Crossroads of Continents
Human populations began moving into Northeastern Siberia over sixteen thousand years ago from the more temperate regions of eastern Asia, spreading north and east with the passing of the last Ice Age until they crossed into the Americas via Alaska. Native American Rights Fund
1867 - The United States purchased Alaska from Russia. The Treaty of Cession required that Alaska's Natives were "not to be disturbed" in their use and occupancy of their traditional lands.
